Golden Grass is a grass-like species of Eriocaulaceae exclusively from Brazil, seasonally grown in the region of Jalapão, a state of Tocantins.
Golden Grass's main characteristic is the intense metallic shine and gold color, hence its common name, “Capim Dourado”, which literally means “golden grass."
Utilizing the stem, natives of the region sew tightly together with strips and transform the golden grass into a variety of handmade crafts such as bags, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, rings, hats, baskets, and more.
The artisan community works hard in extreme conditions to support their families with their amazing craft skills.
