The daughter of Romanian immigrants and raised in California, Sabrina Ionescu (pronounced yo-ness-coo) is one of the most important names in women’s basketball today. lonescu, a standout highschool player, eventually made her way to Eugune Oregon to play for the Oregon Ducks starting in the 2015-2016 season. In Eugene, Sabrina would create one of the most prolific basketball careers in NCAA history, rocketing the Ducks to national prominence.
