Dear Family and Friends,
Silence is golden......except, when we are supposed to be giving all of you updates about our business!
So, you might be wondering what we have been doing this summer and whether we are still on for launching in September. (And, if you are not wondering, well darn it!) The short answer is YES!
We spent the summer working on production, customs and learning about tariffs (ha!), and reaching out to universities and high schools for approval to use their logos. The approval process has taken longer than we anticipated. And, for those of you familiar with mergers and acquisitions, one of the delays has to do with an office closing and moving to another state and no one is quite sure what is happening with applications. (Sound familiar?)
Regardless, we will start selling in early September and have three major things happening:
- Omaha Fashion Week - we are having a pop-up booth on Thursday and Friday evenings, Aug 23rd and 24th at the Omaha Design Center!! We are raffling two gift baskets at the event; however, you can be entered to win even if you are not at fashion week, IF you go to our website and subscribe to emails. Those of you that have already done so will be entered to win too. I will send out an email later with the gift basket contents (lots of cool stuff) but please subscribe here: www.mygamedaycollections.com
- Photo Shoot - We are having a photo shoot of our product in late August, and the pictures will be on our website in early early September.
- We secured approval to use logos from Elkhorn High, Elkhorn South High, and Skutt High Schools! GO Antlers, Storm, and SkyHawks!
Finally, we wouldn't be honest if at times, we thought the obstacles were going to be too much and we weren't sure how we would move forward. Fortunately, we have family, friends, and an awesome support system at the Omaha Start Up Collaborative (thanks, Erica, Cameron, and Mitch!)
Thank you for always listening, offering suggestions, giving the old eye rolls when we needed it, and overall your wonderful support.
Jean and Carly
P.S. A wise man named Michael Jordan, also said this, "Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."
